Rare Ingredients Make Anti Aging Products Perform

There are many ingredients that may open your eyes in the anti aging industry. Some are strange, and some are downright bizarre.  Here is a look at several ingredients you will find among the many anti aging formulas out there on the market today.

Let’s start at a very odd one coming from China:  Donkey Hide Gelatin.  Donkey hide gelatin, or DHG as we call it for short, is a tremendous ingredient found in anti aging capsules such as DermaCaps.

Donkey Hide Gelatin (DHG) is extracted from the dry glue pieces made from the hide of a rare black-skinned donkey found in the remote mountainous region of Eastern China. Called one of the three Ancient Treasures of Chinese Medicine by Li Shizhen in the Compendium of Materia Medical, DHG is obtained after a series of processes surrounding the hide: washing, soaking, plucking, rinsing and stewing. DHG is produced mainly in Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu Provinces. Its unique composition of collagen and easily absorbed amino acids helps to rejuvenate and beautify your skin as it tonifies the blood, nourishes the Yin, and moistens dryness.

Ok, that was bizarre, but these apparently are a great anti aging supplement.  Here is a hot commodity that is doing very well in anti aging supplements:  gold.  Gold is becoming a big skin care ingredient as precious metals have been found to have amazing skin care properties and have been shown to penetrate wrinkles to reduce them in appearance.  One line of gold skin care products is called Oro Gold Cosmetics, and it’s products have been doing quite well on wrinkle cream review websites.

Copper, silver, and platinum have also done well in skin care products.

One ingredient that has turned heads is caviar.  Caviar has been found in the uber-expensive skinc are line called LaPrairie.  Yes, the fish extract is used to make the skin more elastic and keep it wrinkle-free.

Another very bizarre skin care ingredient making rounds is one that has some people deathly afraid:  snake venom.  The effect is softer than botox, but like botox, the results go away as soon as you stop using it.

A jar of Planet Skincare moisturizer costs $115 and lasts about six weeks. So far it is only available at the Vitality Medispa on Queen Anne Hill.

There you have it, some insanely weird anti aging skin care ingredients.
