Everywhere we look, we seem to find an Olay product. The Olay Regenerist line of skin care/anti aging products is no stranger to most people. They run national ads on television as they are a major player in the industry. (Being owned by Procter & Gamble, they certainly have a few bucks behind them.) We were excited to try the Olay Regenerist Lifting Eye Serum after seeing decent results with some other Olay products. The price point is certainly attractive, and Olay is a brand that usually puts out a solid product.
The eye serum did work well as a moisturizer, but it was a tad bit watery for our liking. Usually it’s best to apply an eye serum that rubs right into the skin and under-eye area in just a few circular motions. Maybe we were spoiled with LifeCell and Elite Cream and held the Olay Regenerist serum to higher expectations. Clearly, the two other products have more detailed ingredient mixes, and the Olay Regenerist product was up to a tough test. It did work very well as a moisturizer, and it even reduced the appearance of wrinkles under the eyes. However, as a product used for reducing dark circles under the eyes, I would not recommend this product.
Bottom line, be leery of anti aging products that are for sale in many retail stores. Retail means a lower price point, which can hint that the ingredients used are not of the same concentration of more powerful products you may find online. That said, we do think Olay is a fine brand and feel we just pitted one of the products they may not have a ton of expertise in and pitted it vs. two powerhouse eye serums.
