As we celebrate yet another long weekend here in the United States, it’s important to not only pay tribute to the many people who made this a Holiday weekend, but to go about our long weekend in a safe manner which will allow us to celebrate many more of these long weekends. Proper care of the skin and body will go a long way for people who may be too young to really understand what this weekend means to many people. As the famous Dr. Kalil says, “An inch of prevention is better than a mile of correction.” This skin care proclamation is my favorite statement about how people should approach their skin care regimen.
Many picnic lunches and bbq cookouts will certainly be enjoyed this weekend. I can already taste my Uncles grilled sweet corn! Yummy! It’s important to keep in mind that although it is only May, the sun is certainly capable of putting some serious damage on unsuspecting skin. It’s important to not only have an awesome time outdoors, but moreso to keep tabs on your skin while doing so. As you probably know, the sun is the biggest threat to our skin, and can cause nasty wrinkles much later in life. Yes, it’s sweet to go back to work on Tuesday being the person with the best tan, but it’s not so sweet 10 years later when you are the first person to wrinkle around the mouth and you find yourself reading wrinkle cream reviews every day as you frantically try to get rid of those nasty lines. Keeping tabs on your skin and being preventative in nature when you formulate an anti aging game plan is crucial to the success of the skin later in life.
Basically, people need to keep in mind that everything they do today will influence tomorrow. Yes, even if you are in your twenties, you can benefit greatly from an overall solid skin care plan. This means moisturizing the skin with the best moisturizer you can get your hands on. This means removing dead skin cells with a deep peeling. This means using the best eye cream or eye serum you can get your hands on and using it like clockwork. Every action that is applied to the skin now has a reaction later in life. It can be positive, as in the application of strong ingredients from an eye cream. Or, it can be negative, as in the powerful rays coming from the sun, that are pounding down on the skin and creating a problem in the form of wrinkles, which are certain to set in later in life.
If there is one message you take home from this Memorial Day post, it’s that you need to think now in order to look your best later. A proper skin care regimen today will have a positive influence on what happens to your skin tomorrow.
Enjoy your Memorial Day, and remember to be safe from all angles.
